Greetings, ladies and gentleman! I hope everyone is having a fantastic day once again. I know this post is about two months too soon, but I am ready for fall and I am pumped about some fragrances that I get to wear again or test out in the cool weather. Fall is seriously my favorite time of year. There is nothing like drinking a nice chai tea on a hayride with pumpkins all around you. The smells and sights of fall are breathtaking. So, are the fragrances! This list is not in any sort of numerical order. I mostly numbered them so I wouldn't lose count, haha. Let's get into it!
1. Burberry London
If you have followed my blog since last fall, then you know that I love this one. It's a masculine bomb of earthy tobacco and spices. It can come off smelling like port wine, wet leaves in the fall, or even a Christmas tree. This fragrance has so much depth that you can get different accords each time you smell it. It simply is amazing. It's not the best in the performance category, but I get a solid 6 hours from it. For the price and scent quality, this is still a must-have for any man.
2. Tom Ford Tobacco Oud

I love tobacco, as many of you know. Thi sone isn't for everyone, but I absolutely love it. My buddy Nathan Geck sent me a decant of this and I fell in love with it. This is a love it or hate it fragrance. It features rum, tobacco, oud, spicy notes, and incense. It's somewhat sweet, boozy, and powerful. The oud isn't exactly a take on western oud, but it's not nearly as offensive as some middle eastern types. It's quite an elegant and classy fragrance. It seems to be vastly underrated in the community. At least to me it is.
3. Happyland Signature
I just reviewed this one last week. It's a beautiful gourmand with sweet honey, cavendish tobacco, blueberries, and woody notes. A fragrance that screams fall to me. It has really good performance and is an original from a small house. Smaller houses usually make really good stuff, and this one is no exception. Order a sample. I am pretty sure you will love it.
4. Gallagher Rose All Dae

I just reviewed this one yesterday. One of the few fragrances I call a masterpiece. Rose All Dae is a dark rose gourmand with a cold metallic bite and a bit of smokiness. It's also quite boozy. It's a very complex, but well-blended fragrance. This one is not a cheapie, but if I wasn't poor it would be worth every penny to me and I would keep it on my collection.
5. Alexandria Fragrances Hafez 1984
Another fragrance I deemed a masterpiece. This one has amazing quality for the price you pay. It seriously smells like a very expensive fragrance. It projects for hours and lasts all day. Cavendish tobacco with saffron, cardamom, and guaiac wood. It's masculinity defined to the core. This one will be a future classic when Hany makes it into department stores.
6. Mugler Pure Malt
The last one of my masterpieces. For the record, the 5 fragrances that I have called a masterpiece are Pure Malt, Guerlain Vetiver, Green Irish Tweed, Rose All Dae, and Hafez 1984, Now that we got that out of the way, Pure Malt is a legendary fragrance. Even in its modern formulation. Featuring Whiskey, chocolately patchouli, and sweet fruity notes. This one is a must-have for me and it will always be in my collection.
7. He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood
This is another one I spoke about last year and it still deserves its spot in my rotation this year. A niche quality juice for around 30 bucks. This one is an earthy vetiver and cedar fragrance with a prominent airy and ozonic violet note that is accentuated by some incense and black pepper. It literally smells like a mountainside forest after a light rain. You get a cool and crisp mountain air vibe from it. The performance isn't stellar, but it's very much passable clocking in at around 6-7 hours.
8. Genre Parfums Noble Soul

9. Alexandria Fragrances Fructis Virginis
This creation by Alexandria is their take on Tom Ford's Lost Cherry. I haven't had a chance to smell the Tom Ford one, but goodness...Fructis Virginis is such an amazing fragrance. A perfect date night fragrance. Sweet cherry liquor mixed with bitter almonds that smell like an amaretto to me. A lot of people love layering this one, but I think it's simply perfect on its own.
10. Creed Royal Oud
Source: www.fragrantica.com |
This is my favorite cold-weather Creed. Royal Oud is as sophisticated as the fragrance claims, although it's not very oudy. This fragrance is mainly based off of medicinal green notes and spicy cedar. A great formal fragrance, but I do wear it with a sweater and khakis as well. If I only wore it for formal situations, then I would never get to wear it and that would be a shame.
11. Penhaligon's LP No 9
Source: www.fragrantica.com |
If you have been following me for a while, then you knew this one was coming. My scent of the day on Thanksgiving and Christmas last year. This fragrance pairs perfectly with a sweater and khakis while visiting the in-laws. A spicy clove bomb that smells almost like mulling spices that you put in apple cider. This one is pretty dry though, so it's not for everyone. I love it though.
12. Paco Rabanne Pour Homme
Sometimes you just want to smell like a man. This one does the trick. An old school barbershop fragrance. This one features dry oakmoss, soapy lavender, hay-like tonka, and a healthy dosage of herbs with a touch of honeyed sweetness. It's clean, masculine, and still performs like a beast. Sometimes you just have to go back to your roots and remember where you came from to appreciate the modern stuff.
13. Zoha Aroma Oseberg
If you saw my review of Creed Viking, then you will know that I did come to love it, but still could not justify the price for what it is. Thankfully, the team over at Zoha Aroma came out with Oseberg. So, now I have an affordable alternative that is very similar to Viking. This fragrance embodies life on a viking ship with notes of spicy pink pepper. cooling spicy mint, tart lemon, woody vetiver, and sandalwood. It has similarities to Old Spice, but it's hardly a clone. It's more like a modern iteration of Old Spice without as many florals, even though it does contain a discernable rose note.
14. Scentstory 24 Gold
I said this was my best winter pick-up last year. That still holds true. The cacophony of warm amber, sweet vanilla, and smoky oud is a tried and true classic in Arabic perfumery. Commonly referred to as kalemat, which I learned from the owner of Zoha Aroma. This one is sure to warm you up on even the coldest fall nights. It will grab attention as well. This is my most complimented fragrance.
15. Givenchy Gentleman EDP
Source: www.fragrantica.com |
Givenchy Gentleman EDP is my favorite designer release of last year. It features powdery orris root(iris), sweet vanilla, and spicy black pepper. Befitting of the name, this is one classy fragrance. I prefer this one over Valentino Uomo Intense and any of the Dior Homme line. This one just works for me, but then again, I am a sucker for vanilla.
Conclusion
Are you as excited for the cooler weather as I am? Let me know what fragrances you are looking forward to this fall. I can't wait to bust some of these bad boys out.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day! Remember to say something positive to someone today! Keep smelling amazing and making the world a better place!
